This is my very first post :) I'm not sure if I built this blog correctly, but it will do for now. The picture that is showing on my blog is an angel painting that I made last year. It is a duplicate of a famous painting by Rossa Fiorentino (1494-1540) called Angel Musician. I painted this in oil with heavy gesso texture to give it an old world feel. I saw this picture in a calendar from 2003 and carried it around with me for 6 years. I kept going back to the picture thinking I would paint it one day, and finally in the spring of 2009 I finished it.
There is an amazinfg story that goes along with this painting I would like to share with everyone. The day I finished this painting I was driving home from my art studio when I received a call from a friend of mine who was also a heart recipient. He said he had some news for m about my donor. After 10 years of writing letters to my organ donor and never getting a response, he told me he knew who my donor was.....to be continued......
